About Laholm Municipality
It is in the meeting with our residents that the value of our work arises! As an employee of Laholm Municipality, you are involved in delivering services and support to our residents – every day, all year round. Laholm Municipality encompasses everything from care, support, and education for our residents to infrastructure, maintenance, cultural life, and growth. We believe that every employee has the drive and ability to improve operations and a desire to develop in their profession.
As an employee of Laholm Municipality, you have colleagues with many different professions and backgrounds, but what unites us is our mission and our common values with the guiding principles of joy, courage, participation, engagement, and good role models.
Community Building, Culture, and Public Health Administration (SKF)
is one of the country's broadest and most diversified administrations and includes seven units (Rescue Service, Environmental Unit, Planning and Building Unit, Technical Unit, Meal Unit, Culture Unit, and Recreation Unit) as well as an Administrative Staff. Our goal is to be a forward-looking, change-oriented, and service-minded administration that is held together by our common development work and our striving to enhance each other in our respective professions. At SKF, we work at a fast pace with the broadest palette of municipal tasks, which requires our employees to look beyond their respective operations to contribute to a whole within the administration. In our operations, we respond to three political committees: the Community Building Committee, the Culture & Public Health Committee, and the Conflict of Interest Committee.
The Planning and Building Unit
consists of 21 people with various competencies and characteristics contributing to community building in Laholm Municipality. Within the unit, there are planning architects, building permit administrators, housing adaptation caseworkers, cartographers, and GIS engineers.
The unit is responsible for a large part of the community building process, and our tasks include detailed planning, building permits, and implementation, supervision according to the Planning and Building Act, housing adaptation grants, establishment and maintenance of the municipality's mapping, measurement activities, GIS development, and more.
As a caseworker for housing adaptation grants
you will work independently, but you will be part of the building unit's building permit group, which, in addition to you as a caseworker for housing adaptation, consists of building permit administrators, supervision caseworkers, building inspectors, and an administrator.
About the position
Handling housing adaptation grants means that you investigate, assess, and make decisions about grants to individuals according to the Housing Adaptation Grant Act (2018:222). The work includes home visits in the applicant's home environment and close contact with applicants, relatives, property owners, contractors, and partners such as certifiers and other authorities. The work also includes handling invoices and the administration of cases, as well as assessing and sometimes obtaining quotes from contractors.
As a smaller part of the position (10-20%), other tasks within the planning and building unit's area of responsibility will be included, and there is the possibility to adapt based on experience and knowledge. For example, it could involve administrative tasks regarding supervision under the Planning and Building Act, web editor, or similar.
Are you the one we are looking for?
We are looking for someone with a relevant academic degree, such as in construction technology, occupational therapy, or other equivalent education/experience that the employer assesses as equivalent.
If you have previously worked with handling housing adaptation grants or have experience from other authority exercises within related regulations, it is meritorious.
We see that you, as an applicant, have a good ability to meet people from diverse backgrounds who are sometimes in difficult situations in life. You are structured in your work and have good collaboration skills. The work involves authority exercise, and it is important that you are responsible and professional in your professional conduct. You have experience in documentation and possess good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish. You will be in situations that require a flexible mindset in your role as a caseworker. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. A B driver's license is a requirement.
